if sound is coming from multiple sources the wave lengths interfere and are either constructive or destructive at different points, creating a pattern (you can see it because of how light salt is). when the frequency is changed, the wavelength also changes and a new pattern of interference arises.....physics. sorry didn't mean to be preachy i just came to click on the google ad.
